Cooperative De Ensino Superior Politecnico E Universitario (CESPU)

Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Politécnico e Universitário (CESPU) is a private, non-profit institution of higher education founded in Porto, Portugal, in 1982. CESPU's mission is to create and disseminate knowledge in the area of health sciences, providing its students with a solid and consistent formation, giving them a critical and creative spirit, adequate conditions for research and development activities, and enhancing their proximity to the community. CESPU oversees four higher education establishments: Instituto Universitário de Ciências da Saúde (University Institute of Health Sciences) located in Gandra, Instituto Politécnico de Saúde do Norte (Polytechnic Health Institute of North) which includes Escola Superior de Saúde do Vale do Ave (Vale do Ave Higher School of Health) also in Gandra, and Escola Superior de Saúde do Vale do Sousa (Vale do Sousa Higher School of Health) located in V. N. Famalicão. The group aims to be one of the reference institutions in private health sciences education in Portugal. CESPU offers a wide range of health sciences, education, and business administration programs. It provides its students with study support services such as libraries, study classrooms, and academic and e-learning portals. Students can also participate in associations, tunas (musical groups), and mobility programs like Erasmus. The institution has a diversified range of interventions in the health sector with considerable social impact. Its research output is evaluated across 19 areas, with solid performance in fields like dentistry, pharmacology, and medicine. CESPU publishes in prestigious scientific journals and collaborates with prominent research communities.
