The Termez branch of Tashkent Medical Academy is an educational institution located in Termez, Uzbekistan. Established based on a decision by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2018, this branch aims to train medical professionals meeting modern standards and developing advanced technologies in the field of MBBS/Medicine. The branch offers a comprehensive medical education program with a focus on producing doctors equipped to serve the fundamental purposes of medicine. With a capacity of 950 places in two educational buildings, the Termez branch has 4 faculties, more than 20 departments, and 9 clinical departments for advanced training. Recognized for its quality education, modern facilities, and international programs, the Termez branch of Tashkent Medical Academy is dedicated to training skilled medical professionals to meet the evolving demands of the healthcare sector.
The Termez branch of Tashkent Medical Academy was established to enhance the training of highly qualified medical professionals, meet modern standards, address the shortage of medical staff in the Surkhandarya region, and incorporate advanced educational technologies. The branch was officially approved to ensure the theoretical training of future medical professionals and to provide a robust educational infrastructure aligned with contemporary medical requirements. It serves as a structural subdivision of Tashkent Medical Academy, focusing on training medical personnel to meet current standards and advancements in medicine. The Termez branch was opened in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, aiming to strengthen the educational and technical base to meet the demands of the evolving medical field.
The undergraduate program in medicine at the Tashkent Medical Academy- Termez Branch lasts for 6 years and leads to the award of a medical degree "Physician (General Medicine)”.
The 6-year program is divided into two parts: pre-clinical and clinical studies. The pre-clinical years (years 1-2) focus on the study of fundamental subjects such as anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, and pharmacology. The clinical years (years 3-6) involve the study of specialized medical subjects like pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and internal medicine.
Clinical studies begin in the second year, where students gain practical experience in nursing patients. Clinical subjects are taught from the third year onwards, providing students with hands-on experience in various medical specialties.
The medium of instruction at the Tashkent Medical Academy- Termez Branch is English, Russian and Uzbek. This allows students to develop their language skills and prepares them for an international medical career.
